2018 Season Approaching with Same Goals
The 2018 season is approaching quickly with March 12 as the official start of the season. Players are conditioning, coaches are preparing, equipment is being ordered, all of the things that normally take place are occurring. Spring is on the horizon and the 2018 season is filled with promise. After graduating 7 seniors from the 2017 team, the team in 2018 will look somewhat different. We only have three returning players from our Championship team in 2016, but that is the way it's supposed to be, and that's part of what makes high school sports so special. Every season is different, the players change, but the focal point of our program remains consistent; building character through teamwork which turns into a great effort bringing success for the individual as well as the team.
After winning 4 consecutive OK-Blue Championships from 2013 through 2016, the Lady Broncos will again look to make their way through the OK-Blue. There is no doubt that the league will be tough from top to bottom, and each game will be a battle. The challenge for the coaching staff will be to assemble the best group of players from the 53 players that will try out for the Varsity and JV teams. The challenge for the players will be to come to tryouts on March 12 prepared to be part of something special, a family atmosphere that promotes growth and success through hard work and a will to be the best you can be. Positive people who work hard do incredible things, regardless of records or championships.
We are excited to begin the 22nd season of girls soccer at CHS. So many things have changed since way back then, but our mission remains the same... giving players the opportunity to play the game they love in an atmosphere that promotes building up not tearing down, and representing our school with class and pride. Regardless of wins and losses, when we accomplish those goals that is what truly makes us champions.
